Project History
The I.M. Pei designed high rise condominiums were
built in the early 1970’s. Located on Boston harbor with
constant ocean spray, the structures suffered from leaking
windows, poor flashing installation and reinforcing steel
with inadequate cover. The rehabilitation work occured
over a three year period at a cost of 10 million dollars.
After over a decade of harsh New England winters
and an exceptionally dirty environment caused by the
construction of the “Big Dig” these buildings continue
to look fresh and provide protection from carbonation
and water entry.
