Project History
Built in 1916, this building sits on Chocolate Avenue,
and was originally used for the printing of candy labels.
It was modernized sometime several decades later,
and last served as Poser’s Department Store.
Owner Hershey Entertainment and Resorts set out
to remodel the building and help reinvigorate downtown
Hershey. The first task was to painstakingly remove a
thick, sprayed-on cementitious coating from the building.
The bricks were then repointed, and the terracotta
repaired with MIMIC TR and Matrix. A coating of Primex
and M3P finished off the procedure. In a unique
application, Conpro One Coat, Conpro Stucco, and
M3P were used on an old CMU chimney to replicate
the look of the adjacent terracotta. As renovation neared
completion, the owner signed on a national casual dining
restaurant (Houlihan’s) as a ground-floor anchor tenant,
with the owner planning to occupy the upper office floors.
