- Avoid overlapping.
- Always keep a wet edge. This will minimize lap marks.
- Excess moisture in the substrate will inhibit
penetration of the water repellent and also cause
discoloration of the substrate. Generally, if the
temperature is above 75°F, it has not rained for
three days and the substrate appears to be dry,
it is safe to apply a water repellent.
- Shaded areas such as West and North facing walls
will dry more slowly than East and South facing walls.
It is possible that while some areas of a structure are dry
enough to apply a water repellent, other areas may not be.
- Over spray can travel great distances on windy days.
Use caution when spraying.

- Always apply a sample area to determine coverage
and potential for discoloration of the substrate.
- Use a RILEM tube to determine absorption rate
of the substrate prior to applying material.
- Substrates have different absorption rates.
If coverage is 40 ft.2 or less per gallon, a clear
water repellent will not provide adequate
protection because too many voids exist in
the substrate. In this case a better choice of
product is a coating such as Conpro Lastic,
which is a waterproof membrane.
- Water repellents do not fill voids or bridge cracks.
Always spray to pre-determined break points.
